Custom Order Management · Retail & Wholesale
Every custom order, from the counter to the karigar and back.
In India, a lot of jewellery is sold on order: the customer chooses a design, an approximate weight and a delivery date, and the piece is made by a karigar. DMD Gold tracks that whole cycle — for retail showrooms taking customer orders and for wholesalers taking orders from retailers.
Why it matters
Order books weren’t built for split orders and busy seasons
Order books and loose slips
Orders written in a register or on paper slips get lost, smudged or misread.
Who has which piece?
When one order is split across karigars, it’s hard to remember which item went to whom.
“Is my order ready?”
Without dates in one place, every customer call means digging through books and phoning karigars.
How it works
The complete order cycle, step by step
- 1Create
Take the order at the counter
Record each item the customer wants — the design, approximate weight and the delivery date you promise. Hand over a printed order receipt straight away.
- 2Confirm
Mark the order confirmed
Once the customer confirms, change the order status to Confirmed. Only confirmed orders move on to your karigars.
- 3Assign
Give each item to the right karigar
Assign every item individually. The necklace can go to one karigar and the earrings to another — all inside the same order.
- 4Return date
Set when each piece comes back
Give every assignment its own return date, so you know exactly what is due back from which karigar, and when.
- 5Revoke
Reassign if plans change
If a karigar can’t finish a piece, revoke that item and assign it to someone else — without touching the rest of the order.
- 6Deliver
Track it through to delivery
Follow the order from counter to karigar and back, until it is handed over to the customer. The full cycle, in one place.
Proper paperwork
Job cards for karigars. Receipts for customers.
Job cards — download a proper job card for each karigar with the item, approximate weight and return date, instead of handwritten notes.
